The application fee of $75 is payable online with a credit card when you submit your Part 1.
We understand that paying college application fees presents a hardship for many families. Fee waivers are available for all applicants, domestic and international. MIT offers need-blind admissions, so requesting a fee waiver will not have any impact on your chances of admission.
Select the fee waiver option at the end of Part 1 of MIT's online application and submit. Proceed as though the fee waiver has been approved. Have your high school counselor, principal, or other school official fill out the SAT Request for Waiver of College Application Fee Form. If this is not available, request a short letter on your behalf stating that the $75 fee is a hardship for your family. The completed form or letter should then be faxed to 617-687-9184 or mailed to:
MIT Undergraduate Admissions Processing Center
P.O. Box 404
Randolph, MA 02368
Fee waiver requests will not appear as "waived" on your MyMIT account until November for Early Action and January for Regular Action.
